Accounting

The full-featured, GST-compliant Accounts Receivable / Debtors module built in to Kestral’s Radiology Management System (RMS) offers invoicing on-the-spot and in batches, as well as electronic transfer and receipt of EFT payments, HIC receipting, credit card payments and more.

Comprehensive and flexible, RMS supports multiple financial interest group capabilities, including the splitting of all reports and money figures for each site. Also supported is multiple item charge levels and user-definable management and interpretation of all Medicare rules.

Full end of month and audit, journal and financial statistics reporting capabilities, coupled with the generation of reminders and bad debt lists give RMS sites all the tools to manage the financial details for their facility efficiently and effectively –Other indispensible features of RMS include:

Bag Tracking

RMS allows the effective and efficient tracking of X-ray film bags throughout the hospital from any terminal in the department. Information on the location of film bags can be seen at a glance on the record for each patient, while bags are easily identified using a barcode scanner.

Offering the ability to record transfers of film bags from one site to another, details of bag loan locations, an audit trail of bag movements and the tracking of main and temporary bags, RMS is an invaluable tool for all Radiologists.

Bookings

Prompt and accurate booking of patients from any terminal in the department and conversion upon arrival of a patient to a radiology request is a key feature of RMS. Bookings can be made for patients with minimal information and from either the record for a particular patient or the bookings diary. Existing patient details can be used in the bookings diary or new details added to the system.

The bookings that are entered in the system can be easily converted to requests and additional information added as needed. What is more, when making bookings, RMS allows you to search for existing patient records by a number of identifiers such as Name or Request Number.

Management Reporting

With RMS, key staff are provided with a convenient and powerful means of extracting clerical, management and clinical information via query to the database.

User-defined reporting can be output for at-a-glance screen viewing, printed or saved as an electronic document. RMS also enables users to perform direct extractions based on keywords and results contained in patient reports. Output files can also be imported to third-party software applications such as MS Excel and Access.

Request Entry

Requests are a call from a patient or referrer for a clinical investigation. Requests provide an accurate representation of instances where services were provided to a patient by your organisation.

Adding, modifying and viewing patient requests is within the system is made easy with RMS. Patient details only need be entered once, the lookup facility provides access to all tables (e.g. Doctors, Units, Wards etc) and dates and times for the patients request, arrival and examination are all recorded.

In addition to linking to the Hospital’s PMI, RMS provides free text fields for clinical and other patient notes including medical alerts and a number of other useful features including:
