The latest Karisma upgrade site to go live, QScan Radiology Clinics, consists of a number of world-class diagnostic medical imaging practises. QScan utilises leading-edge equipment to provide fast and accurate service for x-rays, dental imaging, echocardiography, multi-slice CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, MRI and more.

QScan has upgraded their Karisma system at the Windsor site, as well as 6 other satellite sites. The Windsor practise houses the Karisma server for all 17 QScan sites. Now that the v2 upgrade has been implemented, Karisma interfaces not only with the Karisma systems in the satellite sites, but QScan’s PACS and Medicare Online as well.

Conducted onsite by implementation staff from Kestral, the upgrade process went relatively smoothly. A couple of minor issues were encountered during the upgrade process but dedicated Kestral programmers were on hand to resolve these issues immediately. The site was completely upgraded and operational by 2 am on the morning of the first live day – with Karisma ready for duty.

With Karisma v2.0.6 configured and operational, QScan now have even more power to ensure efficient operation of workflow, printing distribution, accounting and integration with their partner systems, such as PACS and electronic results transfer to external referrers.
